family visit visa

any help please?
Currently, my mom has a two year family visit visa which is going to be expired soon. As she was planning to visit me during the new year time to stay for 2 months, she applied for a new visa under the same category. Unfortunately, her recent visa was refused due to financial documents. She submitted her bank statements for her saving account which generates income each month as interest but they claimed that the origin of her income is not clear and hence refused her visa. they did not accept her bank statement to check her income. what do they mean by source of income? what documents they are looking for? thanks
