Switching from Tier 2 Long term ICT to Tier 1 General

Hi all,

Is it possible to switch from Tier 2 ICT Long term to Tier 1 General? Tier 2 ICT LT issued in 2013.

No, you cannot switch from within UK. You need to apply for the Tier 2 General visa from your home country. You will also be subject to a cool off period of 12 months from the day you leave UK.

But my question is to shift to Tier 1 and not Tier 2.

Tier 1 General is a closed category and not open to new applicants anymore, the scheme was closed in 2011 for new applicants. Even applying for extensions as a main applicant will be closing in 2015.

Since Tier 1 is closed now, I thought it was a typo! I agree with CR001's response.
