Living Income or maintenance requirement

Post by swamywin10 » Wed Dec 17, 2014 10:59 pm

Hello All,

Could anyone please provide the necessary information regarding the Income requirement for me to apply for British Citizenship or naturalization after reading info below?

According to section 3 from FORM AN (Good Character Requirement), For the question 2 which is "Are you ?", I would like answer both 'An Employee' and a Self Employed.

Actually, I was granted ILR in October 2013 then, I was in salaried employment from November 2013 till May 2014. Currently,
I am in self employment from 2nd October 2014 till to-date. But, until November 2013 I was jobless. So, planning to apply for this in January 2015.

My question: Is there any minimum Net/Gross Salary to be shown including all the categories that they have given on the form?

Being self-employed currently, I will not be able to submit the 'Self Assessment Statement of account' for the year 2012-2013 (last year) where it could have been handy by now. But, according to "Guidance of Form AN", I should produce Self-assessment statement of account in case if I ticked on self-employment.

So, would you please suggest or comment for the below where I have decided to go like is the correct or not:

I can produce relevant Pay-slips and bank statements for which I was in salaried employment from November 2013 till May 2014.
AND
I Would like to produce the self-employment registration confirmation letter from HMRC which would says that I been self-employed recently from only this year. Therefore, I would not be in a position to produce 'Self Assessment Statement of account for the year 2014' where it will be generated for the accounts submitted upto March 2013.

If the above process is not correct, would you please let me know what should I do accordingly?

Thanks in advance to one and all

Kumar :? :?

If applying on basis of being a spouse of BC or 5 years residency there is no requirement to be employed therefore there is no min/max salary required to be shown.
I am sometimes wrong.

I don't think that there is an income requirement. There is a Good character requirement.

Hi Vinny,

Thanks for your comment. Although, there is a Good Character requirement, we need to tick to the given options whichever applicable to me. As I described above, I will fall under employment and self-employment. So, I can submit pay slips for employment and what about self employment? What should I submit to justify my 2nd ticked answer ? According to HO, I should submit "Self-Assessment Statement of Account". But, in my case I will not have it atleast until Dec 2015.

Therefore, please suggest what should I do according to my current self employment status? I know, three is no income requirement. But, neither I can just tick only 'employment' for which requires me to produce current up to date pay slips and Bank statements nor just only tick 'self-employment' for which requires me to submit Statement of Account for self-assessment. In contrary, I can not even skip that question at all.

What do you think will be appropriate please? As you aware, whatever we tick from that question we need to produce the relevant documents..

Look forward to hear from you Vinny...Thanks

Regards,

Swamy
