Fiance Visa help for Indian

Hi,

Me and my fiancee plan on getting married in around 18-24 months times. I am a British citizen by birth and she is an Indian national by birth. we met in india around 1 year ago whilst on holiday. Our plans are to get married in india as most of her family is located there and my family have no issues travelling to india for the wedding

i will want my wife to return to the uk with me a week after the wedding and we plan to go on honeymoon to the Maldives from the uk

my question is, can i apply for a fiance visa and then once the visa is granted have a religious sikh ceremony in india but not a legal marriage.

after our religious marriage can we fly back to the UK and carry out a civil ceremony. i want my her to come with me to the UK stright after our religious wedding, i dont want to wait a further 90 days with spouse visa route as you must legally marry and then submitt your application to uk home office [/size]

She can't be travelling around with fiancee visa. The best you can do is apply for fiancee visa and get married as soon as she comes,then apply for live to remain.
After that you can go about with any other ceremony you want to have anywhere.
It will be impossible for her to come with you after a week or thereabouts after wedding outside uk as it takes weeks or even months to get the visa issued.

I know if I apply for spouse visa after our marriage in India it will take some time for our application to be processed

This is why I was asking if I can apply for fiancé visa 3 months ahead of our religious marriage

After religious marriage in Indian i will bring her back to the uk and carry out a civil ceremony

Is this not possible

All I'm trying avoid is having to wait for her visa to be processed after our religious ceremony so I thought the fiancé visa may be the better option as you can apply before marriage and get an answer

Well if the religious marriage is recognised in India, then it will be an offense to remarry in the UK using a civil wedding.

Is the religious marriage not registered.

A person who has since married, cannot use a fiance visa, and must apply for a spouse visa.
