Family visitor visa eligibility

Post by settling14 » Mon Dec 29, 2014 7:14 pm

Hi All,

I have got my ILR visa approved in 25th September 2014. I want to bring my parent to UK.
Which category of visa I should choose?
Can I apply family visitor visa for my parent as I am an ILR visa holder?

Thanks

You might need to clarify what you mean, bring them or for them to visit?it's practically impossible to bring them, being settled here isn't the same as being from EU.
If it's for them to visit, then that might be possible provided they meet the requirements.

Hi,

I am staying in UK on ILR visa. I want my mother to visit UK to stay for sometime with me.
Please suggest whether I can apply family visitor visa for her or not.

Thanks

She can apply for a family visitor visa, but will still need to prove/show that she intends to return and has ties to her home country.
stay for sometime with me
You do realise she cannot stay for more than 6 months??

Hi Char,

My mother is staying with my father and other family members (grand mother and my brother). My father is not coming with us.
She will back within six months.
My query was that whether she can apply for family visitor visa or not as I have ILR Visa but I don't have British Passport for which I will apply around Aug 2015.

Please suggest.

Thanks

A parent of an ILR holder may choose family visitor.
