help me get home please!

Post by StuckInColombia » Fri Jan 09, 2015 2:45 pm

 I am a UK citizen, ive been living in Colombia for 3 years. I had my baby 2 years ago with a Colombian whom i married last year in England. we want to go back to the uk for the babys safety, myself and the baby are good to go. Im confused on the process, if we go (me and the baby) and i can get a job earning an annual salary of more than 18,600, after 6 months i can then apply for my husband to join me right?
its that some people have been telling me i have to have the salary PLUS a savings of over 16,000 and i cant be living with my nan (who has agreed to have us all) that we have to be in our own or rented property in my name?

can anyone clear up my doubts as i dont want to be here any longer!

Thanks

£18,600 for 6 months, i.e. £1550 a month each month or the lowest only is counted.

Savings not required but savings of over £16,000 can help reduce the level of income required above. If you have savings of £62,500 the income requirement is waived.

No need for own property but the accommodation has to be suitable and not overcrowded - usually proved by a survey or some such.

There'll be an English level requirement too for your husband.
