Switching from Tier 2 General - 50k or 200k

Post by asingh112 » Wed Jan 21, 2015 10:46 am

Hi All,

I am currently on Tier 2 general sponsored visa in the UK since last 2.5 years. I did study in the UK in 2009-2010 and worked on PSW visa full time for 2 years 2010-2012.

Since PSW visa doesnt count towards ILR, I want to change to Entrepreneur visa and start IT contracting. My confusion is if I can show 50k funds (instead of 200k) because I had psw visa in the past and I studied in the UK. Or I have to show 200k because i am switching from Tier 2 at this instance.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts

Cheers
Ankita

Hi Ankita,

Yes, for you only 200K route is the option if you want to switch to Tier 1 Ent visa.

I know you want to do IT contracting, but why do you want to apply for the Ent visa when you have a T2 General, that too with only 2.5 years to go before you can apply for ILR? Is your T2 General at stake?

Check your eligibility here: https://www.gov.uk/settle-in-the-uk/y/y ... -2-general

Hope that helps.
