Hi,
returning from our holiday my wife was detained at the airport for a couple of minutes,
but then released without any further questioning.
She was detained "by mistake" based on her last name which is very common in Bangladesh.
She was given a form IS 81 and her passport was retained. Then the form IS81 was taken
back and her passport returned.
My wife is permanent resident under EEA regulation. I think that the detention was not
proportional and based on no reason.
Does a detention affect her future application for British citizenship? Why did the officer took
the IS81 form back?
