Residence Permit expired- can I reapply?

Post by Toadbury » Thu Feb 26, 2015 4:29 pm

Hello

I have been living in the UK for 7 years, my 5 year residence card expired 2 years ago. Is it possible to reapply for another 5 years residence card?

I don't want to apply for a permanent residence card as it's loads of paperwork and don't have the time + I'm going to apply for a Italian Citizenship (my husband has Italian passport and so do my children). I am desperate to travel to abroad in August for a holiday but need a valid permit :(
Thought reapplying for the 5 year permit will be quickest and easiest.

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I cannot find anything about this online

Thanks
Janine

You can apply for permanent residence card but if you prefer to apply for residence card then you have to show simply that your husband either exercising his rights or if he already got document certifying permanent residence then you will be fine. If you want to go abroad in August but then I m not sure if it will be dealt by then. But you can always request your passport back
