Naturalisation Eligibility - Urgent NCS on Tuesday

Post by rakeysh.patel » Fri Feb 27, 2015 10:31 am

All,

Bit of last minute but here's hoping this is a false alarm -

I had my initial T1 (G) on 24th March 2009. Extended on time in Feb 2012 and applied for for ILR (based on 5 year) on the last month of T1, February 2014. I went for the same day service and was approved in 15 mins or so on 28th Feb 2014.

I am applying for Naturalisation via NCS on 3rd March 2015. I just wanted to make sure that I am okay in doing so as I have completed my 1 year on ILR. Someone mentioned that because I got my ILR in the last month of my 5th year on T1, I had to wait for another 3 weeks or so - in other words,

24/03/2009 - 24/03/2014 for T1 + 1 Year of ILR = Eligible for Naturalisation application on 24/03/2015.

Can someone please advise and put me out of my misery?

Thanks

What is the date of issue on your ILR card?

Add 12 months to that date, result is your eligibility date.

Thanks mate - just out of curiosity - what would be the first arrival date in the UK in section 2? I was here on Student Visa between 10/2003-10/2007 & returned on 11/2008 after I got my HSMP approval out of country?

That would be your HSMP date.

My friend came on Student visa, became a Work Permit Holder back in the day and after five years got ILR, 12 months afterward got Citizenship. He was my referee too, but anyway he put his Student date. Which I personally see as correct, because its the date you came to UK with the view of settlement. Since you went out and got HSMP and came back, yours will be the date you entered UK on HSMP visa.
