BC and self employment tax

Post by faislondon » Mon Mar 02, 2015 9:03 pm

Dear All,

I am on ILR since March 2013. I am planning to apply for Naturalisation in Sept 2015. Before ILR I was partly working full time and also partly self employed. When applying for ILR I claimed points on both the earnings. I haven't received any HMRC tax due letters also I have closed my self employment and cancelled with HMRC. I have two jobs now full time and part time paying tax in both the jobs.

I want to know if at all I will face problem in naturalisation application due to this???

Many thanks

Did you submit self-assessment tax returns for the period you were self-employed?

Hi,

I did submit the tax return online. They sent me tax due copy once. But at the end of financial year 2014. I submitted the omission from self employment. It has been accepted and HMRC confirmed this by email.
I just want to know if this will effect my BC application??

Is there any tax outstanding for the 'tax due' notification?

I received one last year in Feb 2014. I left Uk in March 2014 and returned back to Uk in august. Since then I haven't received any thing. Also I have closed my self employment with HMRC. However I paid NIC class 2. I am not sure how HMRC closed my account if I was due tax??. I want to make sure before I apply for BC or do I need to check with HMRC??

Or I will pay them in installments.

It would be wise to check with HMRC before applying for BC,
