You have completed 39 working days as of today. Hope they decide your application this week or early next week.

The settlement timeline for week ending 20th Feb for Chennai BDHC was 40 days. Whereas Mumbai BDHC was just 6 days.

Hello All,

I reapplied for my husband's spouse visa this month, after 1 refusal and a failed appeal we were instructed by the judge at the appeals tribunal that a fresh application ought to succeed this time around.

I made the application from VFS Jalandhar on 06/02/15 and today we got the following email:

Your Reference: NEW DELHI / XXXXXXXX

25/02/2015

Dear XXXXXX XXXXX

Thank you for your UK visa application. A decision has now been made on your application and has been despatched along with the documentation submitted.

The completed application has been dispatched to the Visa Application Centre for them to process and forward to you, in accordance with your instructions to them.

Yours sincerely

I think it will be only when a decision has been made.

No update.

Will advice member to send email at complaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

I sent below email:

I am complaining about rampant inefficiency in processing of Settlement VISA by below team.

We all agree that maximum SLA defined for settlement visa is 60 working days. Which itself is punishment for Settlement applicant considering
all other category of visa is just 15 days SLA.

I have sent another email under Freedom of Information Act explaining justification of 60 days SLA.

Chennai team as per attached weekly report taking on an average of 40 working days to process application in contrast to other center like Delhi and Mumbai which are taking less than than 15 days.

Mandate of any organisation should be to finish there task in more efficient and productive way rather than just meeting the max SLA prescribed.

Max SLA should be for most complicated cases and not should be taken as norm instead it should be exception.

I want you to investigate in the sorry state of affair of this center and address its short coming so that future applicant should not go through pain.

Thanks iconavdeep for email address:

Also see my post in other timeline thread to avoid duplication
http://www.immigrationboards.com/immigr ... -3260.html

I also sent email to lodge complaint, see below for text
Dear Sir/Madam,

I have a family settlement visa for minor child application lodged at Chennai British Deputy High Commission Visa Cochin VFS offices on 5th February 2015.

I have been checking the service standards amongst New Delhi High Commission and Mumbai BDHC. As of today 27/02/2015, VFS has published service standards which shows that Chennai BDHC taking 43 working days for settlement applications, whereas Mumbai BDHC handling the settlement applications within 4 working days.

I am concerned at the level of disparity within the BDHC service standards. Yes it is still under the target of 60 working days, however the issue is why there is no interaction between the regional BDHC's to manage the work load and bring more parity amongst the BDHC's in India?

As a fee paying service I am gutted that because we applied at Chennai so we have to wait 43 days whereas if we had choice to apply at Mumbai BDHC we would have received decision within 4 working days.

Can you please advise if Chennai applications be brought at par with Mumbai service standards in regards to timelines for settlement applications?

Hi All

We got an email from Chennai BHC, " your application has been processed and sent to VFS. They will be in touch soon about collection/delivery of your documents" .

Does it mean visa application is success full ?

Congrats on update.

It doesn't mean anything else, other than what it says. processed and sent. That's it.

You have waited for 45 WORKING days for this email, waiting for the passport and documents to see what decision it is; is just a matter of day or two.

Good luck.

So if we fig something out like as an average they take around 40-45 working days so hopefully we should also get our visa somewhere around in mid of this month or end of this month :)
