How early can you apply for family visa? travel date inJune

Hi

i am planning to bring my mother aged 65 on family visa to UK in June. I wanted to know how early can she apply for the visa? Is it allowed to apply by end of March 2015 and requesting visa from June to December( 6 months )?

Will they give visa from June onwards or will they give visa starting from Beginning of April onwards?

You can request a visa to be forward dated by 3 months.

...but unfortunately there is no guarantee that a post dated visa would be issued!
Inspite of the request ECO may ignore (either intentionally or by oversight) and issue visa from the approval date.
