explaining money taken out from bank act for spouse visa

Hi All

Do I have to explain large amounts of money that is being taken out from my bank account for the spouse visa application as the sponsor?

These are monthly standing orders that I put into my mothers account to save for me.for things like furniture and bedding for my spouses arrival as well as the visa application fees for my spouse and flights.i've written a supporting letter to explain what the money is for.Would this be sufficient?

No - the ECO only wants to see that you earn the required amount and evidenced that accordingly.
