Fiancée visa - Medical Treatment questions

Post by imb01 » Mon Mar 16, 2015 2:55 pm

Hello there,

I'm currently filling out the visa form to apply for a fiancée visa, and it's a little worrying.

I spent 6 years in the UK – out of these, roughly 4 were spent as a student, and 2 were spent on a Post-Study Work visa in between.

During my time in the UK, I used NHS services, both as a student and while on the PSW, mainly to see GPs and visit local surgeries. A few years ago, while on the PSW visa, I had a medical emergency and ended up in a hospital's A&E department for several days, during which I got lots of scans and tests. Prior to this, I also had a couple of private appointments (after which the doctor pointed me towards A&E). At the time, I was not working, but had been in the UK for 12 months prior.

I never got any kind of medical bill for these services, but now that I'm applying for the fiancée visa, I'm concerned that I did something wrong. I'm not sure if I should answer that I paid for medical treatment or didn't, because I did both. Should I supply the NHS number I had while I was there as a student, and on the PSW visa? What are the dangers here?

I would really appreciate some advice on this. Thank you very much!

You are fine. You are allowed to use the NHS on both Tier 4 and PSW visas.

Man, that's a relief! Thank you! I Googled for this but couldn't find a definitive answer. Would it be advisable to include my NHS number if they want to look me up?
