After marriage

Post by pooleorch » Mon Mar 16, 2015 3:04 pm

Hi all,

We applied for and was granted
Marriage and settlement visa £1001 not the 6 month pass to marry!
I am British citizen, she is Argentinian .
We get married then we apply for 2.5 years more as I understand it? But it looks like we have to fill out all the information again, it's the same thing pretty much, is this correct? Supplying all documents again(the same) and all evidence when they have only just had it!

And paying another £1001

Can anyone shed any light ?

Thank you in anticipation

You're correct. Assuming you applied for a fiancee visa, a further fee is required at each application stage. The first FLR(M) application to be submitted after the wedding with virtually the same documents, a further extension after 2.5 years and again at the end of the 5 year period for permanent residency (ILR). When you apply in 2.5 years time for another FLR(M) visa extension you will have to also submit evidence of co-habitation for the 2.5 year probationary period and meet the financial condition (whatever that may be then).
Unfortunately, as visa fees often rise yearly, the cost of the next 2.5 year visa may well be higher.

The fee is the same for a spouse settlement visa and a fiance visa. Did you submit a premium application? This would be £885 + £300 for the premium service. As you say you're not married yet and have already been granted the visa I assumed you'd applied for a fiance visa.
If you apply by post for the FLR(M) 2.5 year extension visa the fee would currently be £885.
