Hi
I am applying for ILR under Tier 1 general category. I have an enquiry about travel allowance.
I know some companies provide travel allowances as money which is part of the employees contract. However, my employer rather than giving us money, provides us with London annual travel card which is part of our contract. It also mentions the cost of the travel card on the payslip as "employer's deduction." If I compare this with accommodation benefit. If employer A gives £10,000 for accommodation allowance as money, then employer B provides a house for the employee and mentions the cost (£10,000) for that house on the payslip as part of contract. My scenario is similar to an employee of employer B.
Can I claim that amount as allowance?
Thanks
