Do VFS offices accept fees in their offices?

Dear All,

Has anyone got any recent experience with VFS Offices in India (New
Delhi in particular) whether they accept payments in their office on
the day of the appointment or not? Because according to this, they do
not :-

My brother's family is coming here and they are saying that they only
got an option to pay online and the booking website, after giving them
an appointment, mentioned that he has to pay online within 3 hours or
something and that's it - it did not mention anything about a
possibility to pay at the visa application centre - Is this new now a
days?

I've had couple of more relatives visit us about a couple of years
back and they happily paid at the application centre so just wondering
if this has changed recently? Feedback from anyone with recent
experience would be appreciated please.
