Is there any updates from the people who applied in Karachi?????
Nothing yet!
My 3 months are done next week Thursday. I escalated yesterday because apparently my application was processed a long time ago. Not sure y my passport isn't here yet.
They're just slow for Karachi.
This is just ridiculous!! when all other cities are being processed in good time, especially if you have received an update stating that it has been processed yet they keep you hanging in by a thread. Can just about imagine how you must be feeling aminoacid88. Hope and pray the outcome is positive for you.

Do you think its worth contacting the VAC to see if the paperwrk has arrived back yet. I have heard of some people waiting for collection call and not getting it they ended up going to the VAC and the paperwork was sitting there the whole time.
Im gna give it another week and then send my husband to the vac centre. Did u enquire this weekend and they replied bk or the weekend before that ? And did they escalate it for you or they jus replied with an update? X

@Shreen have you received an email from BHC yet saying that your application has been processed and concluded or just an update when you inquired?

Well when I called them yesterday they said that a decision has been made a long time ago and there is nothing holding up or delaying my case. That's why they said they will escalate it for me so that I can get my passport. When I received the email, it just said they had sent the relevant info for escalation but it did not say that they would respond back to me. I emailed them today and have not yet received a response. And now that Friday and Monday are bank holidays it's even more frustrating! I'm thinking of going to the VAC again on Thursday if I haven't heard anything by then.
It's been 1 week for you as well.. Maybe the VAC might have something?

Hope you all hear good news soon, I need some help regarding filling the application. I did my Nikah online in 2012, but marriage was consummated in last December. So according to marriage certificate it is in 2012, Is it the same date I have to mention in the application for marriage date ? would they object how marriage was done while I was in UK. ???? ANY Help will be appreciated.
I HAVE READ THE GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES ON PROXY MARRIAGES AND IT SEEMS THAT THE MARRIAGE WILL BE RECOGNISED IF IT IS RECOGNISED IN THE COUNTRY IT TOOK PLACE IN/ REGISTERED IN. HOWEVER IT ALSO STATES THAT IF ONE OF THE PARTIES WAS FROM THE UK THEN IT WILL NOT BE RECOGNISED AS THE UK DOESN'T RECOGNISE PROXY MARRIAGES.

HAVE READ OF PAGE 7 AND 8 OF THE FOLLOWING UKBA GUIDANCE DOCUMENT (ESPECIALLY PART 13.3.2 WHICH APPLIES TO YOUR CASE):

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... rriage.pdf

I would seek legal advice on this matter.

It is confusing, because its registered with union council and i have NADRA Marriage Certificate as well, so it is legal marriage that's what UKVI requires , a legal marriage certificate registered with union council and foreign office attested. There shouldnt be any reason for them not to accept it.

Hi Khani

It's not that you have to justify the validity of your nikkah or marriage to us on here. Its BHC who will make the final decision. If your still unsure you may want to seek legal advice or speak to immigration specialist?.

I would seek legal advice and read through UKBA guidance notes and policy on proxy marriages.

To shreen

Yes i sent an email on saturday thats just gone past and got a reply next day sunday. Seems a bit strange to be getting a reply on the weekend.

I did not ask for escaltion just enquired about the status of the application. Reply i received just stated that the application has been processed and decision has been made. The VAC will notify us in due course. Who knows when that will be. Yeh i was thinking to hold on till the holiday weekend is over then send hubby to the VAC and ask whats happening. Keep us updated if you hear anything. This is our second application so i am more nervous.

Duas for all.

If you escalate online, they get back within a day or two anyway so unless you're in a rush, I don't think it's worth it. If they're anything like DM Digital, they'll start chatting nonsense to make the call last longer to charge more.

I have had the experience with calling them. Lol they are not like DM digital. Its British embassy and professional people, and they tend to keep conversation short and to the point keeping in view that we are being charged. My call from the point of advisor contacting me lasted for 4 mins approx
