Extension Or ILR

Hi Experts,

I am bit worried as extensions are no more from Apr 5 2015, Please provide your expertise for the below issue.

Visa valid from: 15 May 2010
First Entry: 25 Aug 2010(100th Day)
Currently my visa valid until: 9 Jul 2015

Can I go for ILR directly in Jul(by post/same day) or should go for another extension before 5th Apr 2015? Please advise me. Thanks in advance.

Hi atik

as per immigration rules u r short of about 46 days...as u come to UK after 90 days ....u r period of stay will count from 25 August 2010...
U can't apply same day service....but if u apply by post and pay by cheque and give fingerprint on last day .....
Case worker normally count from date of decision.
My lot of friends got approved they were short 2 to 5 months and they were come after 90 days...
Normal ilr take 3 to 4 months
So u should be okay

I thought i was only short of 14 days only(4 years 11monts to qualify for ILR). Please correct me if i am wrong.

U r right 14 days short and these days will easily pass through in process ....Ho normal give 15 working days for biometric enrolment. ....so 14 days will pass easily before decision

Thanks ALI97... I have couple of things to clarify

I have 3 dependents to applly ILR with me, they are currently out of country past 3 months.

How many days dependents can be out of country before applying ILR and what is the maintenance amount for each person to apply ILR?

If I were you, I would apply for an extention before 5th April, 2015 - it would allow me extra days (with extention) and then I don't have to worry about how many days I am short of as the extention will allow me sufficient time. Apart from extra cost (fee), there is no reason that you should not do the same...to be on the safer side.

Hi Contactman,ALI

I went to Liverpool PEO for my visa extension on 2nd Apr(Yesterday)and it's SUCCESSFUL(visa valid until 02Apr2018)

Questions asked by Caseworker:
1. I am not eligible for 45 points for earning because my visa is valid from(15 May 2010, but my first date of application is 03 Mar 2010)
2. why are you not applying for your dependants? last time you applied for all.

peace of mind with my extension and nothing to worry
