Child tax credit question

Post by amyfss » Sat Apr 04, 2015 6:36 pm

Hello,

My husband is currently living in the UK on a 2.5 year settlement visa, with the intention to extend this for another 2.5 years and then permanent residence.

We have one child and expecting another child. He is Moroccan and currently we receive as a joint couple, child tax credit and child benefit. I am a uk national and receive carers allowance. ( I believe this is all we can claim with him being moroccan).

My question is, are we allowed to also receive the other entitlements that come with child tax credits? ( healthy start vouchers, nhs exemption for dental treatment and prescriptions and 15 hours free nursery at 2 years old). I am unclear as to whether we would be infringing on ' no recourse to public funds' if we were to accept this.

Many thanks

Yes, you can accept these as a British Citizen and should have no impact on your partners future immigration applications.

Child benefit should be in your name only, not joint names.

Tax credits must be in joint names.
