British passport application - Section 4

Post by Helen B » Fri Apr 10, 2015 2:43 pm

Help needed please.

In the passport application, section 4:

If both parents were born after 31 December 1982, or were both born outside the UK, please give the following details in section 8 of the application form. Either:
• the full name, town, country of birth and date of marriage of your mother’s or parent 1’s parents and your father’s or parent 2’s parents.
• details of your parents’ claim to British nationality.

Unfortunately, for me it’s not possible to find out where and when my grandparents were married. I know their names only.
Is that can be a problem? What should I do?

Grandparents details are not required if you have naturalised as British and applying for a passport. If you only have names, you can put them in and write 'not known' for the other related questions.
