ZIMBABWE SPOUSE VISA SUCCESS - WILLING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS

Went to Zimbabwe with my wife made my application for my visa ,it was a bit of a roller coaster ride but i got my visa ,

Since other people on this forum helped me , i am willing to help anyone as much as i can as i know how messed this situation can be ,i overstayed for 10 years but they never held that against me ,all i can say is that you need to have things in order and with God`s help you will get your visa and you will be free to live your life.I am no immigration adviser but i have had first hand experience of their requirements.I would advise you to speak to a immigration adviser to check if i am correct on some of the things

how did you justify your overstay, I guess they asked you how you supported yourself during this time, what did you say?

Can you tell me what documents you submitted? I saw your previous posts, you worked during this time did you have an NI number? Can you tell us of the interview you had?

Here is what i did ,i wrote a statement myself which is one of the most important parts of the application (some lawyers will charge you for this) stating

My name
When i came to the Uk
What i did after i got my 6 months visa
Told them i got a Visa to go to college
Told them i stopped going to college cause i could not afford it
I admitted and apologised that i had overstayed
I also admitted that i worked during my time in college and after i had overstayed and i have a NI Number
Advised them i never took benefits ,i worked to support myself

I submitted
My wifes bank statements showing my wifes income
My wifes letter from work stating her job and pay
My wifes Pay slips
My wifes work contract
My wifes P60
Our Tenacy agreements for the current and past houses we lived in
Our Joint bank statements for current and old account
My wifes Bank statements showing wages coming in and rent payments
(make sure you highlight Wages and rent)
Our Marriage Licence
Cards from the time we dated,Our wedding day cards,Anytime cards to each other
90 pictures ,20 from dating days ,40 from wedding day ,30 after wedding pictures
Letter from our church to say we are members
My pay slips to show i can get work and wont be claiming benefits
MY CV to show my experience and jobs i have done and i can do

I might have left something out ,i didnt have an interview as the Visa`s are being processed in South Africa ,all you do is leave your stuff with Fed Ex who the Visa processing agency and they will do the rest

hi there i am also from Zim i came into UK as a visitor in feb last year i had been to UK on three separate occassions and had never overstayed. my husband was in the army for 9 years and he left in 2009. we got married in zim in feb 2010 before i came here unfortunately my husband asked his friends about what visa i shud apply and he apparently got wrong information and he was told if i had a visitors visa i could come and extend my stay in UK we did that and applied to the home office well before my visitors visa had expired and they only returned my passport two months after the visa had expired saying they could not get money from acoount which was shocking as there was enough money in the account. we then approached one Zim LAWYER WHO SAID I COULD APPLY FOR DISCRETIONARY LEAVE I DID THAT andapparently my lawyer was not sending all the documentation on time and the visa was refused in septemeber. we then sought legal advice and another lawyer said i could apply here again as on the refusal letter the home office said they understand that we have a genuine relationship and it does constitute family life but for the purpose of immigration control i should return home and apply. WE sent in another application and it was refused on the same gorunds. i cannot return to ZIm as there are a few security issues in my home town as we are MDC and my husband;'s army history is known. the HO suggested i go and apply in South AFRICA AS I HAD LIVED THERE FOR SIX YEARS BEFORE COMING HERE. we have all the documents

i have not been working since i have been in UK but i have a masters degree in biomedical science and have graduated fron SA and have also submitted the evidence

i am also four months pregnant now and i am considering going to south africa to apply for my visa as i am tired of siiting at home and being a housewife i cant even take care of my family back at home. i am not sure if this is good for me to return

Hi and Congrats on your success, just wanted to find out if anyone has recently done this as in in the last few months and if there has been any change to the law regarding this application. Also to the Original poster, is there a section on the online form that one can explain themselves with regards to their overstaying,or is that just a separate thing you add to the application?
