British baby born overseas - what docs to send in

Hi,

I am a naturalised British citizen and my wife is South Korean (with ILR). Our son was born in South Korea last week. I am currently in Korea with my wife but I will be travelling back to the UK soon (alone). I will return to Korea in June/July to travel back to the UK all together.

I understand that our son is British by descent automatically. I am about to apply for his passport online but I have a few questions. Sorry some of the questions were answered before but I couldn't find them.

1. What documents do I need to send in to prove that he is my son (therefore prove that he is British by descent)? I couldn't get any info on this on the passport application page. I presume birth certificate (from Korea) to show that he is my son?
2. Can the passport be sent to my home in the UK? If this is possible, I will get the passport in the UK, and take it to Korea and then travel back to the UK with the baby. However in the application webpage, once I enter "where do you live?" as South Korea (since he is currently living in Korea - albeit only for a week) the country in contact detail is preset as South Korea and I cannot change it. I presume this is where the passport will be delivered to?

Hi, I've found the answers to what docs to send in. However I still have one remaining question.

The requirement for countersignatory is that he/she is able to identify the child. Does that mean he/she has to have met the child? If I get someone in the UK to act as the witness for the application, obviously he/she cannot meet my baby in person, who will still be in Korea. How would this work in this instance?
