Visa required?

I am going to be going to the states to get married and am hoping to apply for my green card while still there. My questions are about employment though, here is the situation;

I will be working for a Canadian company still over VOIP. they will continue to pay me in Canadian dollars to a Canadian back while I pay Canadian taxes.

1- Do i still need a work visa to work while there?
2-Do I need a SSN and/or to report any income in the US?

Also, which is actually better to do, apply for a fiance visa then get married or simply get married? Does anybody know the actual wait times on these 2 visas? The answers to my original 2 questions will decide which route I will have to take. I tried asking these questions to US immigration and all they did was tell me to go to their website which does not cover this situation (at least that I can see)

You are officially not allowed to go to the US on a visa waiver, get married and then adjust status (unless when you went to the US you had no intention to do so). You may get away with it, but if not you may have serious trouble.

Regarding your question about employment, there is no US visa to do what you want to do unless you marry a US citizen or get a K1 visa.

K1 visa is supposed to take less than an immigrant visa, but I don't know the exact timescales. I have heard it's 3-6 months vs 6-12.
