Forgot to declare a 2-day absence on AN form - How bad is it

Post by vignezh » Tue May 05, 2015 9:32 am

Dear Seniors/Moderators

I am in a state of panic, submitted the application through NCS on April 8th and fee was deducted on 1st May. I am currently waiting for acknowledgement and biometrics invitation.

I just realised, I have forgotten to mention a 2 day absence (Business trip to Sweden last year) on the absence page. I had a total of 97 days without these days in the last 5 years. Assuming that NCS photocopied every page (where there is an entry) of my passport, I am pretty certain the caseworker will notice my Schengen business visa from October last year and the pages where the entry and exit stamps are shown.

How bad is this? Is there a way i could let HO know my fault and declare that it was an honest mistake? or should I not do anything.

I do see that on top of the absence page, it says failure to complete this section may lead to delays, it doesn't say application will be refused. Please advice the best course of action.

Its a mistake but I wouldn't worry too much, such typos are usually ignored.

I am guessing that even inclusion of those two days makes your absences 99 days, absences below 100 days in last year are normally disregarded (page 8 section B). Good luck.

Moreover, only whole days are counted as absences.

Actually for the last year, the total absence is under 30 daysincluding these 2 days. In the 5 years, total is 99 including these 2. I hope they Dont penalise me for foelrgetting to enter this on the form.

Worst case scenario? They'll write to you to provide information for those absences. But I doubt it, personally I would not panic and simply wait. Good luck.
