Settlement: Details of Accommodation

Post by RainyDayRun » Thu May 07, 2015 1:48 pm

I am gathering all the documents to apply for the spouse visa. My UKC husband and I currently live in the US. Do I need to send documents that we have a place to stay just to apply? We plan to rent a house, but that won't happen for a couple months. Our financial documents will show that we exceed the income requirements.

If I do need to show we have accommodations, what will I need to show for accommodations? My two ideas are:

Ask one of his family members to write a letter saying we can stay with them. Would that person need to prove s/he owns their own house? How would we do that?

Make a hotel reservation that we'll probably cancel since we do hope to have a house rented before we make the big move.

Thank you!

You can't use hotel reservation, you need to have accommodation, if you've got a family member, you can, but they will need to prove they own the place and you're happy to live there.
I hope you're aware you need to meet financial requirement of 18600 and you have a job with minimum income of 18600 in UK before coming?
You need to meet all requirements before applying.
