want to apply for hsmp

Hi,

I have just started planning for applying hsmp.

I am having M.Sc. in IT from Manipal Academy, India and I am presently working in UAE. I have overall 15 yrs experience.

I would like to know how to apply for HSMP. Is applying online a better option or should I go for an agent in my place. How do I get my certificates assessed. Do I need to send original certificates for assessment.

I would like to have a to-do-list from some of you.

Appreciate good guidance.

if you wish to have your certicates assessed, the body that HSMP team use is NARIC

you too can apply to them to have them look at your academic certificates and to equate them with UK qualifications, I am not sure how much they charge but it takes about three weeks for them to assess it for you. in as far as sending your originals is concerned, i would advise against it, especially if you are going to need your certificates any time in the next 6 months, the best thing to do is probably to send in notarised copies.

The application for HSMP is straightforward. I would not recommand going through an intermediary. Manipal should be recognised by NARIC as its a well recognised institute the world over. That should take care of your points in the education catergory.

What I would advise you to do is
A. Check the points system and see if you qualify.
B. Download the guidelines document and read it carefully and if neccessary more than once
C. Any evidence you provide along with your application should be orginal as far as possible and well documented.

do i need to have my degree certificates assessed by NARIC prior to submitting to Home Office. Or I can send direct to the Home Office.

No just send it to the home office along with your application. It will be validated by them.

It should be on the company letter head and signed by your employer. It should mention your start date, end date, position held, and detailed role. I would suggest this be the case atleast for the current job held. A job hirerachy would also be helpful. I assume you will be applying for maximum points in the experience category as you have 15 years?
