FLR (M) Extension : Postal vs Premium Service

Post by zakirhussain » Fri May 15, 2015 5:56 pm

I have got spouse visa under new rules and from 21st july 2015 i will be eligible to extend my spouse visa for another 2.5 years. My question is shall i apply by post or premium service? I received my last visa on the day by premier service without any problem. I have heard recently that some people not getting response on the same day even though they paid for premium service. If i am not wrong then i think i need to pay £500 NHS surcharge too?

Me and my wife both working with good salary and have all necessary documents to support application. Do you think i should go for day service or post? If I apply by post how long it will take to obtain visa?

I have another question, last time i provided documents that we are living with our family where we have utility bills under our name plus bank documents. Also provided the original document of the house that my uncle owns it along with a letter from him. As we still living in the property do you think i can submit the same document again? Do we need any council tax bill? We don't pay council tax as my uncle pay for it.

I will be grateful to hear from someone who has knowledge on it.

Do you mean AFTER 9 July 2012??

Yes, you need to pay the surcharge. See this link : https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigrati ... cation/pay
Do you think i should go for day service or post?
It is your choice which to do. Same day service costs more as there is a £400 booking fee on top of the visa fee and surcharge. Benefi obviously is that you get a decision on the day if all your documents are in order.
If I apply by post how long it will take to obtain visa?
It can take a few weeks or it can take 6 months.

FLR(M) form gives examples (near the end) of what can be used for cohabitation documents. They should be current, preferably not 2 years old.

The choice is yours. Premium service comes at a premium price but with same day decision.

I have heard recently that some people not getting response on the same day even though they paid for premium service. If i am not wrong then i think i need to pay £500 NHS surcharge too?

Premium service is intended for straight forward applications and the UKVI do state this. There will be occasions where the UKVI will need to do further checks and therefore a decision cannot be made on the day. There are positives and negative's to everything
and one of the negatives to the premium service is that its possible a decision may not be given on the day.

Again, this is a personal choice you need to make.

I have another question, last time i provided documents that we are living with our family where we have utility bills under our name plus bank documents. Provide a support letter from your uncle in relation to your accommodation and any other documentation. Ensure they are recently dated. Your name doesn't have to be on the council bill. Ensure you have plenty of cohabitation documents for the address though.
