I have a house in the UK and the rental income has reached the required 18,600 over the past year.

However, the contract with the current tenants runs out soon after the stated travel date.

Will this pose a problem? or will it be assumed that another tenant can be found?

Has the rental income been properly accounted for, declared to HMRC and tax paid? They do check.

Remember too it's not the income that would be counted towards the financial requirement - would be the net profit before tax....

Yes, I am up to date on the tax with HMRC. My question is do I need to prove that the rental contract goes into the future.

There is no need to show the contract runs into the future.

Provided of course you can show that you will not be needing the house to meet the accommodation requirement for your wife.
