Do I need a degree to get citizenship?

Post by Bryce » Fri May 22, 2015 4:42 pm

Hello, I'm a New Zealand national with ILR from ancestry since March 2013. Looking through the guide documents about applying for citizenship, it seems to read that I need to attach evidence of a degree – but I don't have one. I have diplomas in advertising and filmmaking, 12 years experience in advertising and now at a senior level, but never did the traditional 3 years at Uni. Surely that's not required?

Thanks

BVG

No you don't need a degree for any reason.

And you don't need to prove English proficiency as you are from New Zealand.
(As per previous post).

You will need to pass the Life in UK Test though (& meet all other standard requirements), as per gov UK website.
Good luck.

It should be a very straightforward application then.

NCS is recommended for the copying service & as they will then send the package on to the HO themselves (secure delivery).

You can track average processing times on the latest timeline thread in this forum.
As a non-scientific guide, my wife's application took approx 3 months to be processed & approved (from last Nov to Feb 2015).
