British Naturalisations

Post by explorer257525 » Sat May 30, 2015 12:31 pm

Hi All

I am asking this question for one of my friend.

He was granted ILR in Feb 2014, while applying for his British Naturalisations in Feb 2015 he was fulfilling the whole criteria in the following link
https://www.gov.uk/becoming-a-british-c ... -can-apply

But now he has gone out of UK since April 2015, and the plan is as soon as he is granted naturalisations he will come back for citizen ceremony and apply for British passport and once granted will go out of UK again.
Can you please advise on the followings

1. Is there any criteria that he still has to stay in the UK for 12 months or so even after applying for Naturalisations, if so I assume this might be criteria to be granted British citizenship and passport.

2. I understand if his application of naturalisations is failed for whatever reason he has to reapply and then fulfil the same criteria and in that case if he has spent more than 90 days abroad then there are problems. But I sincerely hope his application be acceptable.

3. any other advise plz in these scenarios

Regards

What exactly makes you think that?
Being British is a state of mind.
