Need Contact no. for HSMP Doncaster

Post by noddy214 » Wed Nov 10, 2004 5:47 am

Hi folks,

A friend of mine has sent his application and have requested to charge his credit card for payment. He sent the courier from India on Novermber 2, it was delivered to Doncaster on November 5 at 11:30 but his credit card has not yet been charged.

We are a little worried as to what is happening and why are they not charging the card.

Does anybody have the contact no. at Doncaster ???? Should we call to check or give it some time.

Please help and advice.

Thanks,
Noddy

The charging team phone number mentioned in the HSMP application is 01142793420.

It may be that because of the volumes they are recieving they may still be processing it. Recently many people have said that it takes a week from the date of delivery.

Thanks mwazir.

I know this may sound silly but I could not find this number on the HSMP application form. Could you guide me where exactly on the HSMP application form is it??? or is it part of HSMP Guidance.

Also, since we will be calling from India, the number would be +441142793420????

Thanks once again.
Noddy.

Noddy,

This phone number is given on page one of the application just above section 1. You are right, from India it would be 00441142793420.

i would give it a couple more days. cause if they posted it on the 5th which was Friday, the earliest it would have got there is monday morning. and then give or take a day or two for them to actually get to the application and send details to the bank plus another couple of days for it to start showing on your credit card bill. so i would say wait until about friday b4 you start worrying.

mwazir, Thanks alot. I thought as much that the number would be staring me in the eye and yet I am not able to find it. Once again, thank you very much.

F2K, it was couriered on November 2 and delivered on November 5. So it is 3 working days if we don't count November 5 as it was delivered at 11:30 am. But all the same you are right, I also feel we should wait till Friday before calling them. In the mean time it might appear on the credit card.

Thanks guys. It is only becoz of memeber like you that this message board has become the most reliable place to get help.

Noddy.

Well yes I was planning to appeal. But after that I got my decision letter and was also lucky enough to be able to speak to my case worker. she explained to me in detail what all evidence she found conclusive and what she did not find.

The way HO perceives an experience letter is very ambigious. They don't seem to pay any attention to the fact whether you are employed by a Multination company or a small time local organisation. Also they do not have any knowledge about various industries and skill sets required there by.
Since mine is a very specialised industry, they measured against the regular yard stick and felt that some of my experience could not be counted as graduate level. Though they gave me my points for graduation.

Based on the case worker's advice, I am considering re-application.

Its not the best situation for you but you can take positive from the fact that you know now exactly what kind of documentation is required and level of detail relevant to your experience letters.

Good luck with your new application.

Hi Noddy214,

After reading ur statement, i feel my work-ex letter was to simple.
I am Doctor working in Delhi in one of the biggest hospital. But i feel that HO ppl will not be aware of the prestige of the hospital.

So can u plz give me a proper format of the experience letter, which i can get it and send accross before my appl is allocated to caseworker.

Thankz in advance.

Gunjan,

I am afraid, there is no standard format for Experience Letter. Besides Experience Letters are customised according to your function as well as the industry you belong to.

The key requirement of an Experience Letter from HO point of view is being as detailed as possible. Also make sure the key responsibilities you have mentioned in your experience letters match to the ones somebody at your level in UK would be doing.

To put more clarity in what I am trying to express, let me give you the details of what I did for myself.

Professionally, I have been a sales person for past 9+ years in Financial Information industry. The kind of selling I am involved into is a specialisation in itself. But knowing HO and caseworker, I am sure they would not understand that.

So what I did was to go on the net and look out for job advertisments for sales professionals in my industry. From the advertisments, I took out all the criteias and skill sets advertised by the employer. The re-drafted the entire content as part of my experience or responsibilities. Ofcourse, I ensured that whatever I write in my draft experience letter is true in its entirity as my employers would have never agreed to write anything that was not true.

So since you are a doctor, I suggest what you do is look up various recruitment ads for doctors in UK. Look closely at what is mentioned out there. Re-write the whole thing so that it reflects that you are capable of all that is mentioned and request your hospital to give you the letter.

Also since mine is a very specialised industry, I had added the Corporate Profile of all my employers. So even if the case worker went through that document, they would get an idea about the kind of company I worked for and the kind of services offered by my company. Getting a corporate profile is easy as every organisation has a website and we just have to go and take a print out of the "About Us" section.

Hope this helps.
