I am starting my BC process for myself, which includes (Step #1)Naturalization, (Step #2)Ceremony, (Step #3)British Passport and then (Step #4)Indian Passport surrender.
Planning to apply through NSC sometime at end of August 2015.
My Indian passport is expiring during mid-Match 2016. By the time I am about to surrender my Indian Passport, I may cross mid-March 2016.
Query : Please guide me by when I can apply for passport renew ? Would that be fine even I can apply a day before it is expiring ? (I may wait till last moment for Step#4)
Not sure if passport has to be valid for n number of days when applying for renewal.
Also, I am sure by mid-March, I may be waiting to have my British Passport (best scenario, I might have it), not sure about legal implication applying for renewal Indian passport after acquiring BC.
If I shouldn’t, then I will have to surrender expired Indian passport… would that be legal ?
