New IELTS exam for settlement of spouse

Post by iramkk » Sun Jun 28, 2015 12:51 pm

Hi,

I am a British citizen, and my wife who is based in India is planning to apply for visa to join me here in UK.

Although, she has a degree taught in English, she passed the IELTS General Training last month, but came to know that UKBA has changed IELTS to a next exam IELTS Life Skills at A1 – Pass. In essence, the IELTS General Training certificate is invalid.

Also, there are not much centres in my state, Kerala.

We thought of NARIC compatibility but refrained from it due to confusion and rejection of several NARIC documents by UKBA.

Does anyone know of any other English test that will satisfy A1 level of English proficiency?

Thanks

The English Test needs to be A1 level from one of the approved test providers on This List (Click)
Char (CR001 not Casa)

Yes, I have seen that.

Since my wife is not based in UK, the only option now is to take the IELTS Life Skills exam in India, provided by IELTS SELT Consortium.

Is that correct?

Thanks

Also, if she is going through the NARIC route, does she need to get anything other than the NARIC compatibility route? Also do anyone have a template for degree taught in English?

Thanks so much
