Hello,
I am in the process of applying for my first British passport. I am a citizen by way of my mother, who was naturalized in 1985. She has her UK passport, but has lost her naturalization certificate. On the passport application it states my mothers naturalization certificate is required. I have contacted the national archives and they have sent me an index card of her naturalization, but do not have any naturalization certificates for that year. My question is: can I send her British passport or a copy of her british passport instead of her naturalization certificate? If not, what should I do? Thanks for your time.
