They do these kind of interviews to weed out any fraud. They want to establish that the child is infact your's, and its not the case that you are just taking someone else child, claiming to be your's.

There is nothing to worry about though.

Carry as much proof as you can. Child's original birth certificate is a must. Ensure that all papers carry your, your wife's, and your child's exact and correct name, and matching all your documents. In India there is big problems of documents having spelling mistakes and name mismatches, or surnames not mentioned.
Also carry all doctor's and hospital papers. If you have family photos with child, with you and/or other family members, carry them too. Also take with you anything that you can think prove that the child is your's.

No need to panic, and give any made up answers to look genuine. Just be honest and tell things as it is.
I am sure you won't have any problem.

Once you have child's passport, you will need to get an "exit permit" from MHA for child. Otherwise, Indian immigration will not let you depart with the child.

Good luck.

And don't forget, your and your wife's ID's as well. Passports, driving licenses, debit cards, anything else you have as proof.

Hi, PrestonLancs

Thanks for your valuable information,

I received email from British High Commission requesting,
"if not both then one parent can attend the interview with child (applicant).
Please bring photo ID documents for all of them at the time of the interview. Also, carry copy of this email at the time of interview.
Grateful if you could also send us scan copies of the photographs taken at the time of pregnancy and at the hospital after birth."

hence I have send 1 photo of each month since she born last year with either parent, total 22 photos via email,
but I have no photos at the time of pregnancy, so i couldn't sent.

well still do i need to carry all the valuable documents as you mentioned in previous post.
please suggest.
