Hi,
I have a quick question.....
I got the approval letter, my family is in my home country, I'm thinking about going there for the holidays, can I bring all my documentation and apply for the FLR in my home country? or can I apply for an EC against the HSMP in my home country even if the HSMP application was the UK?

FLR is only for in country applications. There is no FLR in overseas consulates.

I dont think you can. There have been posts by previous members who have recieved approvals but cannot switch incountry because of change in rules. They asked if they could apply for EC from home country. e HO advised them to apply all over again from their home country as the approval letter for incountry applicants would not be valid elsewhere

One question:
When does your work permit visa expire? You can always apply for FLR after you get back from vacation provided you satisfy two conditions:
1) Your FLR application is made before the expiry of the current visa
2) Your FLR application is made within 6 months from the date on the approval letter.

Well,
My current EC is valid until 2007, but I'm planning to get the the flr done as soon as possible to move employement...

My understanding is that you will not be able to get your FLR or EC in an overseas consulate based on an approval letter as an incountry applicant.
