Post by andrespata » Wed Jul 29, 2015 1:05 pm

Hi Ya,

I went to other other to Peterborough to apply for my child passport , using the fast track service, 1 week, and when I was there the officer didn't know that being EU with permanent residence, could apply for british passport, and they made put the application on an envelope, i was so angry because they told that the law changed and they said was a sensitive case, so I lost my time on the and money travelling there, I am right? , please advise what can i do.

Thanks

there was no change of any kind in the law
you were just speaking to some ignorant idiot

however there is really very little recourse again ignorant idiots in this country and particularly in Home Office institutions

do you have a PR certificate for yourself, issued prior to child's birth, or did you expect them to examine 5-year evidence of treaty rights? that was definitely not going to happen in fast track.

obviously idiots who wrote the rules that say first child passport can be gotten via fast track, forgot that EEA exists, but realistically we all know people who work there aren't capable of that (or any) sort of deep analysis

however since fast track for a first child passport does exist, and if you have a PR card issued in one of the parent's names prior to the birth, there should have been no question it should have been processed

but you can do very little other than complain
**Please note, you can no longer contact me by PM because owners of this board accused me of using it to recruit clients, and disabled my ability to read and send PMs.**

Was your child born in the UK after you had attained PR?
