Are certified copies of passport from OISC agent acceptable?

Post by truthparrot » Sun Aug 02, 2015 11:21 am

Hi If you about to submit your British Citizenship application and are about to travel so need to keep your original passport can your OISC agent certify copies of your passport and include these instead of the original? I know you can do it this way through the NCS service, but are certified copies through an OISC agent equally as acceptable?
Thanks if anyone knows.

This is from the OISC regarding certification of original documents:
OISC advisers can do so, but only in the limited circumstances when
their organisation is dealing with immigration and asylum applications
made to the Home Office. Being regulated by the OISC does not confer
on advisers a standing equivalent to Commissioners of Oaths or
Notaries Public.

Thanks Casa, that's very helpful. So is Home Office likely to accept certified copies if OISC agent is also handling the main application? I am told that it was acceptable a couple of years ago, but something may have changed since then as the HO have been tightening up?

It would seem so, but I would check with your OISC agent who is handling your application.
