VAF4 - New Form for Settlement Visa

Post by mavo » Mon Oct 29, 2007 8:05 am

Hi all,
I intend to apply for a spouse visa in early 2008 and am now starting to compile all necessary documents. I notice that the application form has changed from VAF2 to VAF4. After going through the new form, I need advice from all of you on the below (sorry that this is a long tedious post):

1. How often do you meet? ---> How to answer the frequency of meeting if we meet for 3 months in my country, then he went back, then he returned again 4 months later, stay on for another 2 months in my country, then 3 months later I visit him in UK for 1 month, etc?
2. How many bedrooms are there in the property? ---> Is this the same as Q3 below?
3. How many other rooms are there in the property (not including Spam, bathrooms, toilets)? ---> As Q2
4. Is your sponsor employed or self-employed? ---> What if he is both self-employed AND employed part time? Check both boxes?
5. Do they have any other source of income from a second job or occupation? ---> First one the part time job, then the second the self-employed job. Is this ok?
8. What is the total MONTHLY income from all sources of employment or occupation after tax? ---> 3 months' evidence of payslips and bank statements. Is that enough or 6 months?
9. Does your sponsor have any savings, property or other income, for example., from stocks and shares? ---> Can savings be derived from same source of evidence (bank statement) with the last excess amount in the bank statement?
10.How much of your sponsor's total monthly income is given to their family members and other dependants? ---> What is the bearing of this on the application?
11. How much does your sponsor spend each month on living costs? ---> Does the above considered a living cost if a certain amount is given on monthly basis?

Please do enlighten me as I will be submitting my application in the new form. I need further clarification as to the above so that all documents I attach will be useful to our application.

Thank you in advance - I appreciate all the advice and guidance!

Regards,
Mavo

mavo, a lot of the answers to the questions that you have asked is just common sense. Please trim it down to the level that requires an input higher than from from the average 12 year old so that we can reply.

In that case, how about the first question? How should I reply the frequency of our meeting?

List the exact frequency as it is, but do have an acceptable explanation as to why you, the spouse, did not move along with him whenever you were separated from each other, incase they ask for the reason.
