Spoke to incountry FLR team

Post by MWazir » Fri Dec 03, 2004 12:12 pm

I havent recieved an ack letter from the home office since submitting my application on the 17th.

I called up the incountry team and they confirmed that my application has been recieved at Sheffield and also gave me a payment reference number allotted by the payment handling agency from Cannock. He said a few others have been calling because they have not recieved letters after submitting application. He said he was suprised because once payment has been cleared it should automatically be sent by Cannock.

I told him I was quite happy as long as I know Sheffield has my application in hand which he confirmed. I then asked him if he could cross check my contact address. He said he could not see or update it, but he said in the "notes" sections he could add my address and my request to mail the passports at that address. My case worker would get to see it and would act accordingly.

I asked him why there was only 4 days of update in 3 weeks on their website and also if this delay has been caused because of moving offices/expanded resource base. He said it was because they have a flood of requests for Urgent Treatment and that has taken over priority.

F2K, on the downside, the XMAS holiday season might be even slower if they all decide to shutdown shop and go on vacation.

I doubt if they can all go on vacation. There will be bank holidays (Christmas + Boxing Holiday and the weekend) Other than that they should be open.
The other thing is as with any other office, people would like to apply and be on leave at that time, therefore they may not be at full strength.

Most local authority/civil service including HO are all likely to be shut throughout the week commencing 27th/12......

the 27th and 28th are bank holidays

...so effectively progress will be slower I am afraid :(

Is it physically possible for these guys to be any slower than they are right now I wonder.
