Passports are not issued automatically just because someone has attended a naturalisation ceremony.

Note A British passport has to be applied for separately once a person has been naturalised as a UK citizen.

There is a mandatory interview at a regional passport office for first-time applicants.
Passports are not issued on the day of interview & there is no fast-track process (for first-time passports).

The appropriate form can be processed online or is available from a UK post office,

Thank you for that information. Do you know if you get an email notification as well as your letter of acceptance for natuaralisation? I have been checking my email religiously every day a hundred times a day

In our case we didn't receive any mails from HO at all (during 2 naturalisation applications).

The acceptance letter is what you need (followed by a letter from your local council about the ceremony).

Good luck.
