Post by ukvisa100 » Sat Aug 22, 2015 3:53 pm

Hello All

I am working full time . Got naturalization recently.

My wife ,she have never worked ,receiving ca & dla benefit because of our sick child.

What she write in employment section?

Also ,does she need to return BRP? When I applied , there was not any brp section.

There is no need to be employed to qualify for naturalisation.
If your wife does not work she can say so.
She could answer, as appropriate: "None"

And use phrases such as:
"Not economically active" or "homemaker caring for sick child"

BRP is to be submitted unless you apply using a local council's checking service, 'NCS';
they take a certified copy of all documents & return originals to you, (except for LITUK certificate).

Mother name & median name:

Last time when I applied , I just write my mothers full name as on my passport . I have not separated median name. Is it OK?

If you mean Q 1.31 on form AN, it asks for 2 details if they are applicable in your case.

Firstly - your mother's full name (as it is now, in adult life).
&
If your mother had another name before she married that is her maiden name; it can be entered separately on the 2nd line of the answer box.

Q 1.31 on form AN
Mother name & median name:
In case of my application (and one of my friend also the same) , I just write full name of mother according to my passport.

noajthan , you are 100 percent correct.

Yes, copying the name in the same format as you see it printed should be acceptable.

If some detail is not known you will just have to say: Not known.

For passport, I was in same situation: we did not know all grandparents' marriage dates - just state as: Not known.

(For a passport application based on naturalisation the grandparents' details are not so important although the form is confusing & seems to ask for them).

Many thanks for the reply.

In wife mothers name, is Late word required? In overseas passport it has Late ......................

I am thinking to write it now but do not write on passport application.

Is "Late" part of the name? in either Full or maiden?
Think!!!

For details not known, it is common sense to write "unknown" or "not known".
