British Citizenship Process

Hello!

My family and I received ILR in May and are now planning to apply for citizenship.
Please tell me the lost of documents need to be submitted and time period for application as I need to travel frequently due to business purposes.

Also, my one child will be 16 at the time of application for citizenship. I understand that he has to be registered first?

Please tell me the process for registering him, the length of stay he needs to be eligible and if his application has to be submitted after I get my citizenship.

Yes I was planning to apply via the NCS so that I can travel during the time period.

I was hoping you could clear out one thing for me. On the FAQS forum, for children it says,

'Q2: My child has been away from the UK. Can he apply for Registration?

There are no residential requirements for application under section 1(3) (child born in the UK before parent was granted ILR/PR).

If application under section 3(1) (children born abroad) - There are no residential requirements for children under 13 years old. Children 13-16 years old are expected to have lived in the UK for 2 years before applying. Children who moved to the UK aged 16 or more are likely to get refused and should apply as adults once they meet the Naturalisation requirements.'

My son will be 16 at the time of the application, so does that mean he should have spent last 2 years in the UK or the last 5+1 like adults?

I believe 2 years minimum in UK is required for a 16 year old (if born abroad);
for example, my daughter applied under section 3(1) at age 16 but with 5 years spent in UK & Home Secretary kindly registered her.

Thanks - it took around 4 months, maybe a little longer.
Then the separate passport process took around 3 weeks all in; (separate application)
