We are an unmarried couple, been together for 3 years and have been living together for 2.
My partner is the non-eea, and I am the eea national.

Application received:13/07
Payment taken:14/07
Biometrics letter received & biometrics enrolled: 23/07
Requested passports & partner's B2RP back: 24/07
Passports & BRP arrived: 30/07
Now we're waiting for the COA.

I read the last few posts just now, and we have also sent the electronic payslips without a stamp, signature or a note!!
Will call HO and see what they say.

Good luck everyone.
Sorry what do you mean you requested your partners brp back ? Our lawyers told us that the old visa is automatically cancelled when you apply for eea2
Hi Alex1128,

Just wanted to give you a little update on this as you've asked me to. You know my partner was abroad for the last few weeks. He came back a few days ago, and he entered the UK using his existing BRP (expiring mid 2016) like he always did, with no problems-questions etc. His EEA2 application wasn't mentioned at all. So we know now that his BRP is still definitely valid. Hope it helps :)
Hey Raume,
Thx for sharing your experience, and Im happy your partner came back with no trouble.
Well all we can say is that these lawyers just tried to sell us some bu**s**t they know nothijg about :D

Hello

First time poster, although have followed these forums for some time in preparation to the big day, which is today: I just came from the post office after weeks of filling and correcting forms, compiling documents and reviewing and re-reviewing the whole thing.

Of course, my timeline is only one date, but I will give updates as soon as they happen.

EEA(EFM - unmarried partner - Colombian) & EEA(QP - French) joint application
Have been together for 3.5 years, and lived together for 2 years
I have a Tier 2 BRP residence permit expiring in Feb 2016.

I sent my application on special delivery, and I also enclosed a special delivery prepaid envelope for the return of all identity documents, which I asked in my cover letter. Before including the envelope in my parcel, the guy at the post office asked me to put all documents to be returned on the scale (which was easy as I had put them separately in a smaller envelope), then he calculated the price for the pre-paid envelope. He added a stamp on the pre-paid envelope then let me insert it in the parcel. I did not know this. I though you just enclosed the envelope!

Application sent: 09/09

Good luck to everyone

Excellent jakartaraya, congratulations!!! That's 5 months and a week, more or less. I think the waiting times are slowly becoming shorter again? Hoping at tome point it gets back to the 3.5 months we saw last year!!!

Hi,

I sent my application 05/09/2015, they recieved it on 08/09 and today they took the payment.

I'm applying for RC EEA(FM). Venezuelan married to a Portuguese (gay couple).

We got one interview by phone (45min) when I applied for EEA family permit in November last year before coming to UK. Do you think we'll be contacted again for another interview? We're moving next month (we're living in a shared house, but we found a flat for us). So, we need to update proof of address during the application? Or just change the address via Internet?

Cheers,

Now I am looking forward to go on holidays, I can wait another 2 months,it doesnt matter for me as long as I go holidays to Italy without it :D

Yes, you can get a new visa (family permit) but it will take 2-3 weeks. are you able to do it while in italy? if not, i'm not sure you can travel as probably airlines won't let you in if you require a visa to enter UK.

Bilisredar, I would not suggest you travel without acquiring a Visa, I've heard of cases where the airline doesn't allow them to board the plane if they don't have one. Not even showing your COA or Marriage certificate. I would suggest you contact the airline you are travelling with first before you leave the country.

I think if once you get to airplane than u can enter UK.( I will be traveling with wife)

In the letter my application pritorised if I apply eea fm in italy. But they have embassy in ROme only plus it can cancel my ongoing application.

Hi bilirserdar! Here is my experience and hope it helps.
I traveled from Paris to London by Eurostar, with no COA, but my passport, marriage certificate, council tax to prove I lived here, with my EEA husband. It worked. But we waited for about 15 or maybe 20 minutes while a senior office took my documents and checked them somewhere.

Hi Nina

They do Visa Checks when you board Eurostar?

Certainly. Here is a relevant post I answered too http://www.immigrationboards.com/eea-ro ... #p1236356.

Officer in the window, who checked everyone's visa, called someone (probably senior officer) out and handed over our documents (passports, marriage certificate, evidence that my husband is working in the UK, evidence of our address in the UK, which is council tax). Senior officer took documents and went back to check, while we are waiting outside for about 15 minutes. Then I got a EEA dependent ink stamp on my passport and passed through.

Under law, if you are travelling with your EEA national spouse and you can prove that, you should be allowed to enter UK without visa.

Hi Kamoe! Good luck with your application. Just be calmed and patient the waiting is long and killing! If you need advice let us know! I'm a Venezuelan married to a Spanish national. We are on our 5th month of application. Hopefully, we will get it soon!

Thanks so much for this. This is definitely interesting for me, as I'm pretty much in the same situation. Not having too much hope to have the actual RC by then, I asked the HO to return all form of ID, that is, passports and BRP, so hoping they do and that my BRP is still valid!

Hi Kamoe,

I'm glad our experience has actually helped someone :) I believe that as long your BRP will not have expired by the time you go abroad and come back, it should be good to use. At least that was our experience, and what a solicitor has advised us. We've also called HO to ask before my partner went abroad, what they said was 'If we sent it back to you, it is valid until you get your residence card' (In our case the expiration date of the BRP is after the 6months period). But I would suggest you to still give them a call after you receive yours, just in case there might be perhaps other rules which apply to specific visa types etc (not that I know of though, just an idea... ) Hope all goes well and you have a good vacation.

Tiny small update (to be expected as I sent as next day special delivery), but adding it nonetheless to track time between physical receipt of parcel and official acknowledgement.

Application sent: 09/09/2015
Application delivered to HO: 10/09/2015
