British Citizenship for my Child

Post by jagatheesh » Mon Sep 21, 2015 6:18 pm

Hi

My twin boys were born in India in 2013 and they have come to UK this June 2015 . With Indefinte Leave to Enter Visa. Before they were born i got my british Citizenship by Naturalisation by my wife has got ILR.

Can i apply British Passport for my kids now or i need to wait for an year ?

Any help on this would be highly appreciated.

As you have citizenship and your wife has ILR, you can apply, but it is at Home Office discretion. It is more likely to succeed with your wife's application.

Typically, the immigration status of children born abroad is in-line with the less privileged parent.

If your twins were born AFTER you attended your citizenship ceremony where you received your naturalisation certificate, your children born abroad are British by Decent and can apply directly for British passports now.
