British Citizen - Spouse visa - Urgent financial query

Post by prabupk » Sat Oct 03, 2015 3:54 pm

Hi,

I am planning to apply spouse visa for my wife who is in India (I am a British Citizen). I have been self-employed (since 5 years) until May 2015 and have been earning around 22000 p.a.

After May 2015, I was unemployed for a month and since then have been working as PAYE (earning around 2400 gross per month).

I am planning to apply visa for my wife and which income should I show? The one from July 2015 or the self employed one until May 2015?

I am about to file the tax return for 2014-15. If showing self-employed as evidence, other than the tax returns and bank statements, do I have to show any other evidence? Please advise

trouble is;

if you are not WORKING, then you got to show your savings!
Meaning u got to have an amount of £64K in ur bank for at least last 6 month before the application,

since u got a new job, you can show your current payslips meeting the financial requirement,
als also include minimum of 1 year of ur previous job + P60 + Statements etc.

Just wait till somebody with more IMMIGRATION EXPERIENCE gives you more solid answer.

When you file your self-assessment tax return, bear in mind that the financial calculation for immigration purposes is based on the nett amount of self employment earnings..i.e the amount you pay tax on after business expenses have been deducted.
