EEA housewife applying for BC.need help

hello
i need your advice.my wife would like to apply for BC.she is EEA national living in uk since 2007.she never applied for PR EEA3.since arrival to UK she was a housewife looking after 2 children.never worked.
i'm EEA national first applied for PR EEA3 and one year later for British Citizenship in 2013.
my question:can my wife apply for BC now?or she should apply for EEA3 first and avoid the risk of being refused for any reason?
i read one similar topic but i'm still confused and need your advice.thank you

If you search the forum you may find debates on whether its quicker applying for naturalisation with or without a PR card to submit to support the application.

I assume you were a qualified worker ffrom 2007 - 2012 and your wife was with you in UK & achieved her PR in that way, i.e. ometime during 2007/8 - 2013 when you naturalised.
If you are from an A8 country presumably you were registered on WRS until 2011 (?)

If there's no doubt your wife qualifies as family member of EEA national and you have all the evidence and your wife meets all other requirements, (KOLL, 5 years 'residency', any absences within limits - before & after acquiring PR, 'good character', also proof of physically present in UK exactly 5 years before application, etc), then why not shoot for your main goal?

If any doubt over it, it would cost less in the first place (risk less) to apply for the PR card first, 'just to make sure'.
(If your wife got that she wouldn't have to delay her naturalisation application for 12 months of holding PR as she is now spouse of a BC).

I came to UK in 2005.I worked only 3 years and then I look after my children,two of them goes to school and and have British nationality already.
My husband Polish working over 10 years and apply for naturalisation as well.And we aplly for our oldest son born in UK (MN1).
From a few years Iam houswife.
We called to HO and contacted with some solicitors by phone and all told us I can apply for British Citizneship I jave no exercised Treaty Right(worker,self employed,self sufficient etc)
One of them told me I can write housfie in section employment but then Self sufficient.But if Iam self suffiecient I need to have other insurance than NHS ,I can have NHS insurance.
SO Its finish I think ...
I try to find out are any other housfiwes received British Citizenhip?

You can be a housewife and apply for naturalisation but you have to have settled status first.
(My wife has done this but she had settled status through ILR).
For an EEA national it means having permanent residence in UK (PR).

You could acquire PR in your own right or through your husband.
In your own right, you would have needed CSI for the time you have been 'self-sufficient' as a houswife.

The other option is to acquire PR as the dependent family member of an EEA national (your spouse) who was exercising treaty rights in UK as a worker.

So your husband's dates & timeline are important for your case.
When did husband acquire PR?
If you were married and living in UK for the 5 years to the date your husband acquired PR then you will have acquired PR at the same time too.

As you are now married to a BC you can apply to naturalise any time after you have PR;
(assuming all other requirements for citizenship have been/can be met).

So you just need to assemble all documentary evidence from your husband to show you have acquired PR based on his PR.
That will cover the 'free from immigration time restrictions' requirement for naturalisation.

The steps my wife followed won't apply directly to your case as she had ILR & not PR.

Note a PR card is optional (it just confirms status) but you do need to have acquired PR.
It's not as simple as just living in UK for 5 years.

You will have to decide whether to apply for 'confirmation of PR' cards (for each person) first of all.
This reduces risk & uncertainty as the PR fee is much lower and any issues around PR can be identified before applying for naturalisation.

Alternately, if you are sure you have held PR for 12 months, one or both of you could apply for naturalisation directly; (assuming all other requirements for citizenship have been/can be met).

If your husband worked continuously from 2005 through to 2010 (& onwards) he could have acquired PR over that period.
If you were married all that time & living in UK too then you could have acquired PR through your husband, ie as a dependent family member of an EEA national exercising their treaty rights.

You will need proof of your husband exercising treaty rights over this period (eg employer & tax details, also WRS registration - if appropriate).

It's up to you if your husband applies first (or whether you apply at the same time) and whether you apply for PR cards first or shoot for naturalisation directly.
