Long Absence - ILR

Post by abhi_011 » Tue Oct 20, 2015 4:40 pm

Hello members,

I am applying for In person ILR early next month as Tier 1 (G) migrant. I am bit worried about my absences, though I have spent 5 years in UK but unable to provide any supporting documents for one long absence (174 days). Also I satisfy the rule of not staying more than 180 days in one year. I first came to UK for few days in October 2010 and then returned to European country where I was working at that point of time and from there I went back to India. I returned to UK in march 2011 and have been staying here in UK since then.

I am not able to provide any documents entailing the reason of stay outside UK for the above mentioned period, is that cause of worry ? Can somebody please suggest any document, my stay outside UK was due to personal reasons

In the application form should I fill "Letter from applicant detailing reasons for absence due to compelling or compassionate reasons" as Yes and provide a self signed letter. Would that suffice ?

As I have already booked the appointment I risk of loosing big amount. Has anybody been through similar situation. Please help !!!

Thanks,
Abhi

You should not have any problem.

Include a letter explaining why you traveled, the reason is personal not compassionate since you still have below 180 days
